Art, performance, architecture, books, makers and evenings that offer a new point of view.
Private leisure for ambitious women
A private leisure community for ambitious women making more room for discovery, beautiful experiences, genuine connection and life beyond work.
The Velvet Oak point of view
Your free time should not feel like another task. For women with full lives and discerning tastes, Velvet Oak makes it easier to discover the places, experiences and moments worth making time for—and to experience them in good company.

The Velvet Oak promise
Members receive a personalized Leisure Passport: a tangible record of the places they went, the things they tried and the moments they chose not to postpone.
Marked through selected Velvet Oak experiences. A personal record of discovery, participation and time well spent.
The monthly signature
Enjoy your own company. Together.
Each month, members receive a designated week or time block to make room for an activity of their own choosing—an exhibition, a class, a day trip, a quiet ritual or wherever curiosity leads.
Community does not require constant interaction. The experience is individual; the intention is collective. Members may share a photograph or short reflection afterward, while retaining room to wander, read, explore, reflect or simply be.
Inside the club
From intimate tables and beautiful spaces to culture, creativity, wellness, play and unexpected finds, every invitation is chosen with intention.

Rooted in North Carolina. Globally minded.
Velvet Oak begins in North Carolina, where our founding community will discover distinctive places, people and experiences worth knowing.
But the vision extends beyond one region. As Velvet Oak grows, experiences may take us across cities, cultures and destinations while keeping the same standard of thoughtful curation, beautiful experiences and genuine connection.
North Carolina is where the story begins—not where it ends.
From the founder
Dr. Osa Woghiren, PharmD, founded Velvet Oak from a belief she knows personally: achievement should expand a life, not consume it.

The founding circle is intentionally small as Velvet Oak establishes the culture, experiences and partnerships that will shape the club. Membership is request-to-join and centered on curiosity, discretion, generosity and genuine connection—not status for its own sake.
